Where other programmes simply recap specific driving skills such as parking and manoeuvring, Smarter Driving focuses on the behavioural causes behind dangerous driving situations.
Driver safety should focus less on teaching your drivers things they already know. Road incidents don’t reflect a lack of knowledge, but some situational or behavioural factor that meant you were unable to apply your knowledge.
Our approach is to identify those behavioural causes, and help drivers to build long-lasting habits, grounded in actionable steps that are easy to implement.

Smarter Driving has four simple stages:
Bite-sized coaching modules
We’ve condensed decades of research and industry experience from leading academics into a series of bite-sized coaching modules.
Each module contains a short comprehension assessment to gauge user understanding, that feeds into your Drive iQ score.
Short, relevant monthly assessments
Developing long-lasting habits requires repetition, so each month, we send users a short assessment of scenario-based questions covering something from each of the modules.
Users apply what they have learned to engaging, realistic road scenarios.
Dynamic, reflective Drive iQ score
Users’ performance in the modules and monthly assessments feeds into their personal Drive iQ score. The score is a dynamic reflection of their understanding.
At the start of the next year, their Drive iQ score is reset, allowing them to revisit the modules and new monthly assessments.
Comprehensive annual report
At the end of 12 months, we send users a report that summarises their performance over the year, across the modules and monthly assessments.
This is a chance to review where they most need work and where they can be confident in their understanding.

Smarter Driving contains 14 modules, with each module taking around 5 minutes to complete. At the end of each module, there is a short comprehension assessment (2-3 minutes).

When you complete Smarter Driving, you receive an overall score based on your score for each of the modules. This overall score is displayed in the 'Profile' section of the web-app. You will also receive a certificate of completion.

Yes! Smarter Driving is available on any web-enabled device.

Smarter Driving is based on decades of research into driver behaviour from some of the world's leading academics, out of Cranfield University. Our sister company, DriverMetrics, uses this research in its psychometric profiling, and we use the research for e-learning.

Once you're signed up, you can revisit the modules at any time. You have one free 'retry' credit for each module assessment (speak to your manager to use this credit). After that, your score is final. At the end of the 12 months, all your scores will be reset, so you can have another go at the course (with a different set of questions).
